The Elfrida Society is a charity working with people with learning difficulties
in North London.
We believe that people with learning difficulties are
excluded from society because their strengths are not valued and their
needs are not recognised.
The aim of the Elfrida Society is to make it possible
for people with learning difficulties to manage as much of their lives
as they want and feel able to.
We do this by:
- working with people with
learning difficulties to identify what they want to do and what support
they need to do it
- pioneering new approaches,
and developing and managing innovative projects
- promoting the rights of
people with learning difficulties to be involved in society
- publishing Community Living
magazine which campaigns for real social inclusion for people with learning
difficulties
